Truth – “The Great Lie”

The Great Lie, historically presented and re-offered today, suggests alternative paths that lead to life.  Alternate paths are less restrictive and support self-adaptive ubiquitous options.  The Messiah described the alternate paths as the broadways that lead to destruction, where many are found at its entry.  His commentary on the way that leads to life illustrated a narrow path and straight gate with few found at its entry.  (Matthew 7:13)

Following and knowing the truth is an introduction to life.  After releasing a woman accused of adultery from her sin debt.  The Messiah declared that knowledge of truth has the power to set a person free from the lies that hold them in captivity.  (John 8:32)

Truth unlocks the spiritually incarcerated that have been prevented and hindered us from experiencing life.   Society and, unfortunately, sometimes, religious institutions have established barriers to access life privileges that should be available to everyone.   Society creates classes with boundaries that prevent undesirables from gaining access to privileges distinct to status.  Religion often functions with less visible class markers but achieves similar distinctions between people considered less spiritual or valued based upon inbred status symbols.

Truth reveals knowledge that was hidden resulting from someone’s ignorance or intentionally because of the ignorance and cruelty of others.  Knowledge of truth empowers and releases all people to walk in the purpose that God has intended.

The final observation to address in this background overview is the course competing with the way that leads to life.  When addressing the population of Gentiles who voluntarily accepted faith in the Messiah, the Apostle Paul reminded them that they left behind them the way (course) of this world.  (Ephesians 2:1)

The world has a competing course, leading its followers in the opposite direction away from God’s way.  More specifically, it is a path that is opposite and opposed to life.  The world’s course has signage to suggest differently, but in the end, all roads on its path lead to death without regard to where you enter or the length of your journey.

The course of the world is organized and structured.  There are rules as well as expectations.  As inferred previously, the world classifies all its participants.  The class structure will not allow a person to navigate beyond its pre-set limits.  Class graduation does occur with conditions, and in the end, graduates with certain native qualities will find limits that will impede their mobility.

This is the way of the world. It is not intended to be fair. However, it will equally deliver each of its participants to the same destructive destination. The competing course is pre-set.  Although its path will meander with seemingly appealing vantage points, the end game will be unavoidable.

The mindset of world thinkers is also pre-set to be in contradiction to the thinking of its Creator.  The Prophet Isaiah was directly told by God that His thoughts and ways are not similar to those of man; they are higher and separated as far as the heaven is from the earth.   (Isaiah 55:8)

Following the course of this world requires a buy-in to all the world offers.  It is not possible to taste what it offers without in some way being tainted by it.  In the past, the world's offering was less conspicuous and more discreet.  The offering presented today includes all the contaminated ingredients, side effects, and instructions that reveal the end results, and yet there is an audience eager to take it all in.
